What is yoga?
Yoga is above all a state . Yoga means "to unite", "to link"; it is therefore a state which connects to the Self , our true nature, just as sleep or the waking state are other states. The form (practices) of yoga is often confused with the state of yoga.
The state of yoga is not a mental concept but an experience . An experience is something intimate and unique, which is experienced according to who we are, at a given moment.
Yoga gradually allows the stabilization of the mind, the letting go of emotional memories and finally the detachment of the ego. It is a gentle, progressive practice, respectful of the body and the breath. The postures aim to induce harmony in the body and promote its balance.
